Materials used in the Long Island Montessori School environment are functionally arranged for the child, enabling him to work, move, and develop freely. All the furniture is proportioned to the child’s size. The activities are always well maintained, and neatly arranged on their shelves. There are pictures on the walls and books are always available. Everything in the 3 to 6 program has a specific use, and there is nothing that the child cannot see and touch.

The boys and girls are given free choice of activities and these activities are designed to be age appropriate. This environment inspires children to develop a “love of learning” for learning’s sake.
